Socket Weld Flanges

These flanges are attached by inserting the pipe into the socket end. This allows for a smooth bore and better flow of the fluid or gas inside of the pipe. Socket-weld pipe flanges are mainly used for smaller sizes of high-pressure pipes.

 

Socket weld flanges are somewhat uncommon but incredibly effective connections for flanges that need less aggregate accessible space than a standard weld neck flange, with a run contrary in the center to facilitate a clean tube weld into the socket. Socket Weld Flanges are designed with small-size high-pressure pipework in mind. They have the same static strength as Slip-On flanges but have 50% greater fatigue resistance than double-welded Slip On flanges. The piping call is established with a single fillet weld on the flange’s exterior. Socket welding is a method of joining tubes with tiny diameters, and it is often used on pipes or plumbing fittings with diameters less than DN50. Butt welding is commonly used for large and small-diameter pipes, while threaded welding or socket welding is utilized for small-diameter pipes
